I'm also one of tree leaves

I'm also one of tree leaves
秋晨
我也是一片树叶
A cup of coffee under the huge umbrella tree,
in the early autumn morning,
the leaves coming to give me a sweet morning kiss
the trees are whispering through the wind,
the birds are jealous of my flirting,
morning dreaming world expands my vision,
inspire my soul and my understanding
for my daily writing and reading.
My books
faithful companion
give me the assurance and confidence
what I feel in this world
My music and dancing
faithful lover
give me the sense
why I live in this world
another cup of tea under the huge umbrella tree
in the early autumn morning
the trees begin slowly to dance
around me....
I'm gazing at the falling dancing leaves
my tear breaks out, because I 'm also one of leaves...

My essay "All extremist political movements need a devil"

My essay "All extremist political movements need a devil"

The red Chinese two minute advertisement for the film "My War", which is about the Korean War, reminded me of Kenneth Burke's analysis of the the projection device in political rhetoric:  "If a movement must have its Rome, it must also have its devil. For as Russell pointed out years ago, an important ingredient of unity in the Middle Ages (....) was the symbol of a common enemy, the Prince of Evil himself... Hitler himself states the case very succinctly: As a whole, and at all times, the efficiency of the truly national leader consists primarily in preventing the division of the attention of a people, and always in concentrating it on a single enemy. ... As everyone knows, this policy was exemplified in his selection of an "international" devil, the "international Jew" (the Prince was international, universal, "Catholic")" (Kenneth Burke: The Philosophy  of Literary Form, The Rhetoric of Hitler's "Battle", P. 193-194).
The CCP has chosen nationalism as the central motive and "invaders and separatists" as its devils. The devil occurs in all current conflicts about
Diaoyu Island, the South China Sea, Hong Kong and Tibet. And the film " My War" presents the old and new devil, the USA. Here again Hitler as quoted by Kenneth Burke: "The more uniformly  the fighting will of a people is put into action, the greater will be the magnetic force of the movement and the more powerful the impetus of the blow (Kenneth Burke, The Philosophy  of Literary Form, The Rhetoric of Hitler's "Battle", P. 193).
The church in the Middle Ages, the Nazis and the CCP, they all take advantage of projecting all evils into a scapegoat.

[Totalitarianism old and present]

[Totalitarianism old and present]

The main important characteristic of the fascist movement in the 20th century is the spirt of  totalitarianism. The following two excerpts of speeches - by Mussolini, and by Favansati - remind me of Chinese communism. Mussolini claimed "the political, moral, historical responsibility for all that had happend" in his famous speech of 03.01.1925. This meant the transition to open dictatorship
(Jens Petersen, Die Geschichte des Totalitarismusbegriffs in Italien, in: Hans Maier, Totalitarismus und Politische Religionen, Paderborn u. a. O., 1996, pages 15-35, page 21, translation by myself). Furthermore, the fascist Roberto Forges Davanzati said in Feb. 1926: "If the opponents tell us that we are totalitarian, ... irreconcilable, tyrannical, then do not be afraid of these adjectives. Accept them with honour and pride....Deny nothing! Yes, indeed, we are totalitarian! Without diverging thoughts, we seek to be it from morning to night... . We want to be tyrannical" (Roberto Forges Davanzati, Fascismo e cultura, Firenze 1926, S. 39f., in: Jens Petersen, Die Geschichte des Totalitarismusbegriffs in Italien, in: HansMaier, Totalitarismus und Politische Religionen, Paderborn u. a. O., 1996, pages 15-35, page 22, translation by myself.) The CCP doesn't say, it wanted to be tyrannical, but it described its rule as "dictatorial democracy" and claimed that it serves the people with heart and soul. In reality it oppresses any kind of opposition and does not allow any kind of institutionalized opposition, in which it is more feudal than constitutional monarchy, which acknowledges "her majesty's opposition". And, like fascism, it forbids the basic communicative  rights and democracy.
